As the mercury starts to soar in the UAE, a 10-minute walk from the car park or from the metro station can literally leave your makeup melting. One, thus, has to alter makeup products and trends, keeping in mind the hot and humid weather.
It is critical to apply a sunblock with a strong sun protection factor (SPF) of 40 and above. You can swap the heavy oil-based foundation with a lighter, easy-to-hold beauty cream. Another option is to go for a tinted moisturizer which may not give you the completely finished foundation look but will make your skin shine and add some color at the same time.
For the remaining makeup, follow the mantra ''Lighter is better.'' Eye shadow needs to be melt-proof, and hues summer-friendly, soft pastels. Cream-based eye shadow may be used. Also, go for a waterproof pencil and water-resistant mascara to define your eyes. Instead of using black, go for softer hues such as gray and brown.
To add color and contour to your face, you may choose a bronzer instead of the regular blush. Lip color should be blended well. Nude lip gloss or tinted lip balm can be good choices if you are not too keen to wear dark colors. If you do wear lipstick, you can use a moisturizing pencil over it to keep your lips from drying.
Needless to say, always carry blotting tissues and a good compact to touch-up your makeup if you sweat. Follow these simple tips and ensure that you look radiant even in the sweltering weather.
• Use a sunscreen with an SPF of 40 or more
• Swap oil-based foundation with a tinted moisturizer
• Choose summery, soft pastel hues for the eyes
