A travel agency provides varied services including booking airlines and hotels, and arranging cruise packages and holiday tours. When you choose this kind of business, it is essential to decide whether you wish to become an independent agent or a franchisee. You can then gauge the start-up costs and the software you need.
There are certain regulations that must be noted before opening a travel agency in Dubai. Basically, there are four types of licenses depending on whether you want to open a travel agency, travel company, or become an inbound or outbound travel operator.
Thereafter, you must fulfill registration requirements suited for your business. You need to obtain a license from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), which requires a bank guarantee of Dh100,000 for inbound tourism and Dh200,000 for outbound tourism. You also need to submit a no objection certificate (NOC) in the name of the local sponsor to the Civil Aviation Authority. Aside from these, you must acquire an office space of at least 30 square meters and a police clearance certificate for all managers/partners involved in the business.
