Dubai has metamorphosed into a cosmopolitan city that is home to people from almost all parts of the globe. With a changing diaspora, diverse educational needs have also cropped up. To meet the growing demand, schools, colleges and universities from different countries have stepped onto Dubai’s shores. And one place that aims at being the hub of education is Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

DIAC is one of the world’s largest free zones dedicated to higher studies. With an aim to set up a knowledge-based economy in the UAE, it boasts a massive campus with well-equipped educational institutes. Over 20,000 students now have access to around 400 different courses.

DIAC has universities from the UK, US, India, Australia and the UAE, among others. Students can choose from institutes like the Manchester Business School, Middlesex University and University of Bradford if they are interested in the British curriculum. Similarly, American universities like Michigan State University and Hult International Business School are also available for students. Indian students can get admission to Amity University, BITS Pilani and Manipal University.

The area has become commercially viable and has facilities ranging from restaurants and bookshops to general stores and a recreation room. It provides opportunities for leisure activities like table tennis, football, video games and air hockey.

To assist students right from the day of joining to career counselling, a student hub has been set up. A student representative council also acts as a point of contact between the students and the management. Different types of career fairs, seminars, workshops and information sessions are organized along with opportunities for internships and placements.

In the near future, more higher education institutes are likely to open branches at DIAC. Therefore, if you are willing to expand your knowledge horizon, DIAC is the perfect place to start.
