Are you a dog lover? After welcoming a four-legged friend to your family for the first time, it is natural that you get nervous about how to care for it. Luckily, the UAE has pet care training institutes.

Dog care training courses can help pet owners overcome fears associated with caring for a pet and dealing with any type of emergencies. The courses can be scheduled at one’s convenience. Classes are arranged in three to four-hour sessions, with weekly one-hour sessions spread over a month being the most popular.

The Dog Training Assessment (DTA) course is conducted by institutes to judge the bond between the pet and the owner. It also takes into account the owner’s expectations and requirements. The overall course is customized according to the owner’s requirements, and the character and features of the pet.

The Canine First Responder Course is another option that owners can enrol in. It is aimed mainly at being able to respond to medical emergency situations like spinal injury management and control of serious bleeding. It is generally conducted as a one-day course of over five to six hours.

Other pet care courses available include toilet training, nutrition, exercise, health checks and vet visit preparations, and teaching discipline and dog obedience.

Individuals who enrol in pet care training even apply their knowledge beyond their homes by working as animal care specialists and veterinary assistants.
