Being a cultural melting pot with some of the world’s most luxurious resorts and hotels has helped the UAE become one of the world’s most popular wedding destinations. This means that there is a growing demand for professional wedding planners in the country.

Wedding planners take care of all aspects of the wedding ceremony, from planning the ceremony and entertainment program to finalizing the venue.

Since the UAE has people of different nationalities, knowledge of different cultural traditions and rituals of different faiths is essential for wedding planners.

Many aspiring wedding planners go through a comprehensive course in events management, then undergo a specialized course in wedding planning.

One UAE institute conducts a six-month diploma course in wedding planning. A foreign university also runs a short-term wedding planning course. These are spread over three to five days. Classes last for around six to seven hours. The short-term course is particularly helpful for individuals who are already employed in a related industry but want to specialize in wedding planning.

The course usually covers wedding planning stages, wedding cultures and new trends and themes. Students learn about client meeting preparations, budgets, invitations, among others. They are evaluated based on a project and written exam at the end of the course.
